Id really appreciate peoples views on this one, have been debating wether to post a thred for a few days now .
this might be a long one :
ok so i have spent the last year in college studying advanced nail technology & loved every minute of it. I finished on Wednesday (just gone) and am kinda in two minds what to do now !
From day one i have practised and charged my friends £5 to cover my costs. i also promised them that when i had qualified id give the people ie close friends who let me practise on a discount price ! I have about 6 regulars (friends) now that now pay £10 as a means of saying thanks .
So what do i do from here ? I have had business cards printed altho havent yet given any out . I really want to advertise as i am confident but I KNOW that i am no way im exceptional at nails , i understand i need to do more training and i have lots more to learn . But everything is so expensive . I do not work , i gave up when i fell pregnant with my lil girl and am now expecting again , i wanted to do nails because of my love for them and obviously to earn money doing what i like. My partner is very supportive he paid £500 for my college course and i think i have spent about £300 on different products & uniform etc etc
So this is what i was thinking do i
A - advertise as fully qualified & insured ( which i am ) ?
or
B - advertise as newly qualified and looking for models to update a portfolio ?
either way i need to do something to start earning some money to save for more training .
please let me know what ever you think , even if you think im going about it all the wrong way . Id really like some advice off people who have been here before ?
sorry to waffle
thanks
