Unless you've had your head in the sand, down in an underground bunker you'll know that it's New York Fashion Week and, as ever, beauty brands are there, backstage creating trends that will be filtering out into consumer land shortly.
The latest news just in comes from Aveda who's presence at New York Fashion Week is huge. Their latest show for Ann Yee saw the team, lead by Aveda Global Styling Director, Allen Ruiz, create "urban street style colliding with shiny, modern elegance."
The team responded to Ann Yee's collection which was inspired "by the history of urban Detroit, Michigan, USA - its current crumbling economic state, combined with an appreciation for the survivalist spirit of the city as it moves towards a transformation. The collection entitled Resurgence revels in the structured, metallic elements of the auto industry and the draped angular silhouettes of the city's weathered buildings against the skyline."
I'm a sucker for a side braid and love this look.
Until then...geek on!
