I've been doing gels for a while, and I've noticed that after wrapping the gels in foil for 10 mins, some gels will swell up entirely and easily falls off of the nail. Others will break into small pieces that must be taken off with a pusher.

What could be the cause of this difference in gel break down?

The composition between the different chemicals in gel systems?

For example, Bio Sculpture (soft gel) tends to soak off whole, while CND Shellac (hybrid gel polish) tends to break down into tiny fragments. In both instances though, a pusher is rarely used.
