Every year, we all look to the runways to establish what's going to be hot and what's not. This year, it seems as though hair accessories are where it's going to be so, hair geeks, get your hardware ready.
It all started with Gucci in New York (doesn't it always?). Models came down the runway with floral hair clips pinned over their right ear. Fendi followed with leather headbands over messy french twists and finally, the last of the holy trinity, Prada, showed off jewel-encrusted barrettes.
Speaking of the Prada creation, stylist Guido said, "Mrs. Prada loved the hair and asked for it again. It's really something you can do very easily at home," he said of the super-high ponytail with the ends clipped neatly to the right side of the head. "It gives you the feeling of an updo, but one that's quite young and charming." And when it came to adding those sparkling jewels? "It just elevates and lifts the entire look."
Well, we all love a bit of glam.
