Hi All,

Have just been out to a client who wanted a calgel overlay and my lamp didn't work ! I sorted the client out and have phoned Calgel who are sending me out a new one but I won't get it until early next week.

I have clients tomorrow ! I have an old small lamp that I used to use for gel topcoats - can I use this until I get my new one? The only difference I can see is that it is one bulb and not the 4 that are in the calgel lamp. If I can use this lamp would I need to alter the curing times ?

Many thanks in advance

i suggest you to use different lamp

especially with brisa gel

one bulb may not give you enough uv light so the product may not cure

you may try to extend the time of curing but it may not be enough

The lamp will need to be 36watt to cure the colour calgel - your lamp with the one bulb may well be strong enough to cure the clear gel but i'm not sure how it will work on the colour. Hope this helps

No, it won't be enough. UV Lamps are designed to cover all sides of the enhancement for best curing.

And as the link above that Sandi posted will tell you, each system's lamp is designed to go with THAT system. So "hodge-podging" is just not the way to go.

How soon are they getting you that replacement? I hope it's in a hurry so you don't lose any money!

Good luck doll...

:)

Hodge podgin is using different products from a variety of companies: such as using a lamp and UV gel product not designed to go together.

When companies design these systems we use, they make them to specifically go with the product they use it WITH. IE: Brisa Gels and the Brisa lamp. You will always get the best results using products as they were intended, no matter WHAT line you use.

:)

Thanks for all your replies.

Have cancelled my clients for tomorrow and am praying the lamp comes Monday or Tuesday in time for Weds clients !!

My regulars were fine about it but I had a new client booked in for an overlay at 10am tomorrow but luckily she was fine about it to and rebooked for Thursday.

So all sorted thanks and I have now calmed down

ooo so I'm tottally against hodge podging

I know that brisa cures best in brisa uv lamp

I never mix products

I'm madly in love with creative products :green:
