Help with my Level 2 Beauty questions?

Hi all, im currently studyng Beauty Therapy Level 2 and i am halfway through! One of the questions on my knowledge and understanding is 'how do you acheive effective communication with other members of staff within the salon', and my mind is not working today, so wondered if anyone can help? Well how would you communicate to anyone in your work place? What wouldnt you do, such as sit and gossip. Question seems pretty straightforward to me.
