Hello!

I am new to the forum...I would like to be a Nail Technician and I do not know how to choose the right school and courses.

Do you know any good courses in Toronto area, Ontario, Canada?
There is so many of them

Thank you in advance!!!!!!!

The Academy of Nail Design is based in Toronto, you could try there. I live in Quebec and unfortunately we dont have much in terms of courses out here, so I actually did a home course which came out of Ontraio (I wouldn't recommend it). Home courses are great for basic theory, but in this industry it's practice and proper guidance that you need. Ontario has higher standards than Quebec as well - so you'll need to look into that.

I'd be more than happy to help you on your way into this awesome industry, feel free to PM me anytime and I'll do what I can!

PS. Always nice to see a fellow canadian on here =)

Oh, thank you so much Melissa ;) I'll go and check this out right now...I am so excited! :)

I see they offer separate online mini programs. My Salon is sending me to another school for manicure and pedicure, so I only need UV Gel application course in addition... What do you think about it?

No problem at all!!

Oh and expect to pay out of the wahzoo for training. This is a beautiful industry, but it can cost a fortune. I'm getting professional hands-on training (on the side) and it's costing me $50/hr ... thats aside from the basic training course I took (which also cost a fortune).

If you really want to get into nails... you better think long and hard about if it's what you really want to do because it will cost you a pretty penny!

Hi and welcome to a great site

Good luck with your training

Yep, I see that it is quite expensive :)

Well....I do like it, however, is there another way to get trained without such an investment? In case if this is not what I need.. :)

You should check out Glow Academy. Hopefully I'll be attending there in a couple months!! So excited. It's reasonably priced, too. It's located in Missisauga. The director is really lovely and you can do it very part time if needed - that's what I'm doing
