Insurance help!

Hi everyone I'm a qualified beauty therapist, makeup artist and hair stylist and I have the BABTAC full membership, but I understand this doesn't cover my stock, whether at home or in my car (I'm mobile). Do any of you insure your stock separately for this? As I want it to be covered in an unattended vehicle. If so who do you use? Thanks in advance 😃 x

I think you have to get specialist transit insurance or specialist business insurance . I think it is called tools insurance. May not be worth it depends how much stuff you carry around with you.

I think professional beauty direct do this up to £5000 as Anita add on to their insurance. Don't know if they do it on its own.

Hi Hayley, I'm with BABTAC too. I work in different gyms and take my stuff back and forth and store products and equipment at home. I asked the insurance provider if they would cover me for this and they agreed. It used to be Balens but my policy says Ansvar now. They cover my home contents and all my products and equipment so you should be able to ask for similar cover. I pay about £112 a year which isn't bad I think. Look up the insurance details on your BABTAC policy and ring them up, give them your membership number and ask.

I went to a talk at Pro Beauty last weekend and this was discussed.

Apparently you can only get insured for things being stolen out of the car if you are attacked. There is no way to get insurance on your stock being stolen out of your car when it has been left unattended unless you pay a huge premium for large scale corporate insurance.

I don't actually use a car for beauty so haven't researched it myself but thought I'd share the info I heard! Hope it helps x

Thanks everyone, I have spoken to Balans twice and they just aren't being very helpful. I have just renewed my policy with BABTAC so will check the provider and give them a call. Thanks x
