Salon owners and managers were in attendance for the first in a series of expert business sessions from LOreal. Business Voices launched at the companys training academy in London, with an aim to be a key calendar date for hairdressing professionals. It puts a business twist on LOreals established and renowned Voices events, which have seen some of the countrys top creative hairdressers grace its stage.
Simon Shaw, co-founder and former director of the international award-winning salon group Haringtons, was on hand to kick start the launch of Business Voices.
Shaw, who now runs his own business consultancy called Simon Shaw Education, said: Business Voices will see a series of people speak who are involved in successful hairdressing businesses. I did a 90-minute presentation about business philosophy, with subjects covered including leadership, the team, motivation, targets, communication and coaching. My fundamental belief is that people are a company's biggest asset.
The following Business Voices sessions are scheduled for Dublin on 6 September and in London where Shaw will interview Helen and Richard Ward on stage, further details to be announced.
