I have two id like to have removed - but want them gone not just faded enough to cover. Just looking for some success story reassurance! :)

I have seen excellent results from laser removal, but you need a specialist doing it ok xx

Can you elaborate on 'specialist' please? :) xx

Bear in mind that lasers were decommissioned from the CQC (care and quality commission) a few years ago, so effectively anyone can use a laser and frequently this is the case, unlike many EU countries and also the USA I believe, they do not have to be specialised in this area, they can be non medical. this makes finding good safe effective treatment slightly more difficult. The correct laser must always be used, skin type and quality should be considered, knowledge of skin and types of inks used are essential. I am not based in the UK and although this is an area I have knowledge in, I do not personally use laser and have a dr who I refer my clients to. I hesitate to recommend anyone specifically, but please do your homework very thoroughly. Look at their results, obtain information on the type of laser used. You can risk either damaging your skin because the wrong strength laser is used or ending up going for endless treatment because the wrong kind or strength laser is being used (I have seen both sadly)
Great tattoo removal sometimes involves using laser with combination treatment to get the best results and is generally not dragged out for endless treatments. I hope this helps x

Thanks so much for your input, appreciate it.

One last question - Can you tell me what combination treatment alongside laser you would recommend please? Xx

Hi,

I do actually do tattoo removal, I am based in a clinic covered by the CQC.

Most important thing is to make sure the laser is a class four medical laser and not a IPL machine, which people call laser!!!

Also that the person carrying out the treatment is fully qualified.

Hope this helps!!

It is a long process but worth it :) x

A good tattoo removal specialist will utilise the best method(s) for your skin and to break down/draw out the ink/pigments used within your tattoo depending aswell on depth of the implanted ink etc... The aim is to remove as much as possible but to maintain the integrity of the skin, the ideal is to not create a scar or long term loss of skin pigment. I research lots of ways to both remove tattoos and rejuvenate skin, I can list the commonly used but each has their own methods and reasons for using them. Some commonly used are needling saline, skin resurfacers (ie peels). Also products implanted to the area such as Rejuvi with a larger molecule to draw out the unwanted ink, but opinions vary greatly on safety and results. There are also several new promising treatments that are medical only, non ablative and work excellently especially in combination with laser treatment. You really are best doing some sound research, choosing a good clinic and then discussing their chosen methods. x

Hi I'm currently having tattoo removal at the moment and I'm my 4th session to get rid of a horrible 1980's panther ;-) and I have to say it has faded loads already.

However, not that I'm a wimp but it hurts like hell. The last session I think I was literally trying to crawl away ha ha.
