I qualified a couple of months ago and the last two sets of french gels I have done have lifted after a couple of days.

The first set I did the lady is a personal trainer but she said she never banged them she just noticed her thumb nail had gone.

The second set I did the day after the lady said she noticed one nail had chipped and then a little while later the nail next to it had chipped and was identical to the first one. I went round there today to fix and it was on the corner of both nails identical just little chips - again she didn't knock them. To make it worse when she placed her hand under UV lamp she noticed that there was a little bit if lifting on one side of nail. I felt she was thinking that I was no good. She did comment that she should have had coloured gels as she wanted them originally but changed her mind - my coloured gels are fine no problems at all.

I am really upset and just want to do nice nails without them chipping. What am I doing wrong. My prep is good. Does it get any better as I do keep thinking be positive but it is very hard.

the same thing happen to me, some times they peel off , and other times they chip and fall off. if anyone could suggest anything would be gd.

Do you mean the axiuum gel polish? Do they now do a white for the french?

Most gels will chip if they are applied too thin....maybe try making them a little thicker. Gel applied to thin will crack and chip if the nail is knocked because it cannot withstand the flex of the nail...make the gel application thicker and it can.

Might be worth a try.

I was thinking the same thing, If the nails are too thin they will chip :)
