Hiya hair geeks....

just wondering...

If i have patch test myself for loads of hair dyes and some have been from the same make...do i always have to do a skin test and wait 48 hours before I can dye it?

Its just getting very annoying as I want to dye my hair straight away but I always have to wait.. when i go to get my hair dyed in salons they dont do a skin test so is it ok?

skin tests are important because the ingredients in the dye might be changed, and you can become allergic to something at any time. if a salon was to do skin tests at least 48 hrs before absolutely every colour treatment then the client would probably just end up going to the salon down the road to get their colour done there and then but most salons do keep a record of skin tests on their clients maybe every 3 months.
