After the booze and the mince pies, a sizable portion of Brits will be turing their attention to shedding any excess weight.

That's why many skincare brands are out to meet this demand with a bevy of new detox products. Among them is the Pure Detox Pack from wellbeing expert Advanced Nutrition Programme, a supplement that is designed to help clients 'cleanse from within' and achieve better skin too.

Lorraine Perretta, Advanced Nutrition Programme’s nutritional consultant, emphasised the need to take supplements when trying to beat the bulge. “(they) Reduce the toxins you’ve already been exposed to and improve your body’s ability to eliminate them," she said. "And you’ll be well on your way to glowing skin and improved energy levels.”

The pack from the Advanced Nutrition Programme, which was formulated by expert Patrick Holford specifically designed for the salon and spa environment, relies on fighting the three Fs: filter, flush and fight toxins.

Pure Detox is part of a growing beauty supplements industry - or nutricosmetics as it has been dubbed - which is now estimated to be worth £200 million in the UK.

I really don't want to be a party pooper but do we really have to have this mis-leading quackery pushed on here.

I have researched the guy behind this product and he is a prolific, blogging quack. He, dangerously, promotes quackery as 'cures' for illnesses that need scientific-based medicine, including cancer. Morally, it is wrong to promote this.

You do not need an expensive 'detox' after the excesses of Xmas, the body has it's own system, it's called a liver. It's clever like that. :)
