Hi Everyone,
I am doing an eyelash extension and lash lift course in the near future with a view to do more specialist courses once I am more experienced.
I wanted to work from home but unfortunately the house we currently rent the ground floor is an open plan lounge and kitchen and upstairs is 1 bedroom so there is no facility for me to have a beauty room.
I have asked for a few quotes from salons advertising beauty rooms to rent near me to see what kind of costs to expect.
My question is however, is it more beneficial to work from home than renting a room in salon? I was considering whether it would be more cost effective to look for a bigger house to rent where I could convert a room into a beauty room. As renting a room I would also have to consider petrol/parking fees/renting fees.
The only other problem I am having is I do not understand a lot about the rules if you are self-employed renting a room or self employed and working from home. How to register the business, how to sort tax, I read somewhere about council tax is different is your home is classed as a 'business'. Is there anywhere I can read up on the rules/regulations for this please or get advice from? Also if there are any 'rules' when doing beauty from home. As of course I need better understanding of this before I start.
Many thanks in advance
