Hi I am currently a mobile therapist but would like to set up a room in my house or even a log cabin in the garden! Can anyone tell me the regulations on setting this up please?

Just the same as for a retail outlet e.g. local environmental agency, council planning dept, valuations office etc. Also check with your local council if you need a licence for any of the treatments that you are providing.

You will need to check with your Mortgage company and have a solicitor check the deeds to your house (some newer properties have covenents preventing business from home) and get home working insurance as your current house insurance most likely will not cover your home if you work in it, even if you go for a log cabin in the garden.

Public, product & treatment liability insurance - goes without saying.

I'm sure I've not forgotton anything....

Good luck, I hope it works out for you!

Thank you that is very helpful info

Nikki:)
