Taster treatment consultation required??

Hi Geeks, just wanted to know do you still take a consultation/contraindication check when offering short taster treatments? I thought I would for insurance and to know if client could have it. However, where I used to work we were expected to just give people a 10-25 min treatment of i.head but was told it didnt matter as only short treatment?? (obviously it does if they have epilepsy or are pregnant for example)

Obviously if people are coming for short taster im aware they dont want to spend ages answering questions so do you only cover main contraindications? Thought some of you may offer them so wanted to know your thought on it? many thanks guys xx
 
i still get them to fill out a full consultation form because you just cant be too careful. You can always ask them to fill them out whilst they are waiting or can you get them to them in advance.

At the end of the day its your reputation thats at stake (and your insurance premium) should anything (and it probably wont) go wrong.
 
Yes I do a client consultation/record card for ever client I see, no matter how small their treatment is or how long they're going to stay.

I think my insurance company, also, requires me to keep record cards for 3 or 5 years as well. Actually I never throw them away, so I'm well covered.

...It's just not worth taking the risk. No client record card = no insurance:eek:
 
thanks guys- I thought as much. I just keep getting told by people(landlord who i rent room off) that Im being too fussy and that the times they have been to places, they dont get asked half what I ask them etc

Its annoying when you keep standards up but others dont, so then you look like your being ott :!:
It s a bit dissapointing for client who is wanting to 'try' treatment but find they cant after doing a consultation- but better that than have adverse effect. Some people say 'id just do it-i bet the rest dont bother' glad im a worrier at times:) x
 
We hear it a lot from new clients 'i've never had to fill this out before'. We smile sweetly, say we can't comment on other peoples policies but this is ours and it makes sure we are doing the treatments correctly for them.

It's never fun telling someone they can't have a treatment, I even had a client that was so desperate for a particular treatment she offered to write a waiver etc but I still said no.

Stick to your standards an be consistent, you'll be more respected for it in the long run.
