Hi everyone got a client in a few weeks who has sent me this photo. She already has a blonde level 10 balayage through her natural level 6 hair. I was thinking to maybe use 55/65 all over to achieve this colour? Or would you use a direct dye?

Direct dyes are probably better for the hair especially as its a 10 already take a look at la riche directions! But 55/65 is probably easier to remove, and it's such a nice colour! Although I'd add 10/0 and 0/65 to it for the M. L. E to get that extra vibrancy!

I would explain the second one is a filter too you could do 55/65 with 0/65 then even put high magenta over the top

If you think she’s going to want to change her colour back to blonde fairly quickly, then don’t risk using a direct dye as reds are notorious for staining. Stick with an oxidising colour.

Exactly what Ronray said, this colour is vibrrrrrrrrrrrant when you mix in the 10/0 and you don't even need the mix tone! So vibrant and so shiny, I dont like using direct dyes because you never know how they will fade x

How much 10/0 would you mix with 55/65?

Thanks Janie would you apply all over? Her natural base is a Virgin 6

How much root does she have? You said she is a 10 atm... Just re read your post and she has balyage. Obviously its not going to be anywhere near as vibrant, but its going to colour her natural hair anyway.

I think if you didnt apply any colour to her root area its going to look very dull, almost grey, so yeah i would wash the hair, then blast dry so its just a little damp, and apply all over x
