Hi, I have recently bought the student set for the calgel gel system. It doesn't come with a UV gel lamp. Does anyone know whether it matters if I have the calgel lamp or any other 36w uv gel lamp - does it matter?
Thanks

Have you trained with Calgel.

No, I have just finished training with united beauty using star nails which is a buff off gel, and have had my nails done with bio sculpture.

The student calgel kit doesn't come with a lamp, so you have to buy one. the one I use for my star nails is only 16w, and the recommended one for calgel is 36w

you'll need a 36w then...best to use the lamp that is recommended by the gel company.

how come you got a calgel student kit...??

It was advertised on Ebay, and I had read a lot of positive comments about calgel for flexible gel nail system, so thought I would try it. The kit was reasonably priced - around £** for the starter kit.

Are you not a fan? I see you are Brisa and Akzentz.

I used to have my nails done with Calgel many moons ago...its a nice soak off gel....stronger than Bio IMO.

But i love my buff off gels...:)

It best to get the relevant training in your chosen gel so that you are sure you are using it to its full potential....sometimes the prep varies from one gel to another...also the cure times...application and aftercare.

Also just a quick reminder that buying pro products from ebay isn't wise...safe or right. IMO

Hi there, I bought the starter kit from ******* via Ebay although they are a 'proper' nail product supplier, so thought it would be OK to do that i must say - shows how little I know - hence a newbie

Thing is hun...if they are "proper" they wouldn't need to resort to selling on ebay.

"proper" nail companies would never sell on ebay.

you wouldn't have known hun...thats the great thing about having a site like this...without it who would we have to ask.
