I'm looking to get myself some new brushes and combs: I've recently qualified so just want to improve from my college kit!! I don't want to spend loads as I'm updating my whole kit and newly qualified but willing to spend what's necessary for decent tools. Brush wise I like them to have a pointed end or removable pick for sectioning and I like ceramic brushes. I'd also like a new cutting comb (I quite like the ones with a hook to section but that's not a deal breaker!) and pin tail. was wondering what everyone's favourites and reccomendations are! Also any other tools you can't live without :)

For combs i like using carbon combs because i can use it while using heat and i can use it on dry hair and not worry about creating static (plastic combs will do this!!) YS park have some really good cutting combs! I like them on the long side. They also do have a sectioning hook. I personally use the Moroccan oil ceramic brushes and i loveee them very much.. They just have an amazing grip on hair and heat up well i also have a great blowdryer.. One thing id like to say is make sure you have decent pair of scissors.. Not sure if your school was like mine but lets just say i upgraded twice from school scissors and my school scissors are for manequin hair only and i would never never use them on a client!

Olivia Garden round brushes, cricket combs ,aqua brush as a detangler..are my faves

Touché spornette round brushes, could only order them fro USA but so worth it.

I agree YS Parks combs are lovely, my cutting comb is one of theirs and it's lovely and sturdy, brush wise I like pro-tip ceramic brushes, they do two versions ones with the holes in and one with just a ceramic barrel and nylon bristles, the nylon bristle ones are lovely, get a great grip on the hair and really smoothes it out.

I really want YS Parks everything. But they sell clips singularly and so expensive

Olivia garden comb, I hate static from cheap protip combs.

The denman headhugger brushes are good, a few friends used them.

Denman head huggers and Dannyco silicone fine tooth comb for cutting

hated using my square brushes when i first started but absolutly love my denman squargonomics brushes now:D
