Bleach blonde to light brown at home

Hi so I want to dye my currently blonde hair to brown.
I heard you had to pre pig it first with a red.
So I've brought myself casting creme gloss mahogany 550 and light brown 600.
Do I mix them together or do I do the red first n then dry my hair and do the light brown after?
Please help me
