Can hair dye still take with gel on hair?

I forgot to not put gel on my hair after I got out of the shower. It is smoothing gel used to blow dry hair. To be specific, it is called Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Gel. Will semi-permanent dye or permanent dye take as well with this on it? Or should I wash my hair again to wash it out before I get it dyed?
