I’ve noticed in one of my short hair level 6 clients that her hair is in worse condition with Color Touch than it was using KP with 20 vol. With KP since the mixture is thicker it was easier to keep on the roots only and then I emulsified at the end to color balance.
With CT, since the mixture is more liquid and it’s apparently much more gentle, I was overlapping it on the mid lengths and ends a little more, and colouring it a little more often, even trying new tones (using 1.9% though). I have only ever applied towel dried hair, and I always process for the full 20 minutes when she wants grey coverage (using the 4%).
Side note: I’ve been able to get almost 100% gray coverage which I found interesting. Her hair color is also denser than I would have expected. Am I just overlapping it too much? Or leaving it on too long? Too much product? I color her about once every 3 weeks.
Any ideas why her hair is in worse condition now? It looks pretty dry. She conditions 3 times per week.
