Hi All, Having done quite a few pedicures recently, I have come across a couple of clients where after I have applied cuticle remover and pushed back the cuticle, it seems that it is not cuticle but the eponychium as it is attached to the skin and not growing out along the nail plate. Have any of you come across this and what is your procedure when this arises.
David.

I WOULD BITE IT OFF!!!!!!!

ha ha sorry david, i couldnt resist,
as no one had replied to your post i thought i would, just a shame it was me actually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have this with my little toe nail David, I use AHA to shrink it back and solar oil it used to make it look like I had two toenails split down the side, now i now i have only one and it was the eponychium.

From Doug Scoon" keep the eponychium softened with high-quality oil or lotion designed to soften skin. This will restore the damamged skin to health and provide maximum protection".

Well seeing as some people just cannot be serious :wink2:
Wouldnt you treat it the same as a nail biter?
i.e a gentle push back at each visit with lots of Solar oil!

oooh see Luchie Loo got in first...see told ya I was slow!
