Eyelash extension placement

I find it hard taping down the bottom lashes to keep them down on tiny squinty eyes with high cheek bones which i think make the tape and gel pad go up into the eye if that makes any sense .Find this problem on family members only lol so not making fun of anybody . I use the lash pad first then tape curtain ones that stick on with soft skin tape or even backwards just to see what works but some lashes don't stay out of the way. maybe wrong kind of tape or gel pad( used different kinds too)? Have seen many different stratagies online but maybe i'm missing more info that should be helpful? when i see the videos they dont budge at all but then again the models have the best type of eyes

I have switched to the lashbase ultra slim pads because of this. They are great!
With thicker pads, I find making a few cuts to the bottom part of the pads helps them fan out and sit better
