Mmmm...so I'm a bit ancient, but no prude.

I've resisted Grey books so far, though, having read a few pages on Amazon. I think the style, or lack of -(don't shoot me!)- will irritate me.
I don't mind wasting a few quid but I do mind wasting my precious reading time.

So, a challenge to fans. Should I Grey or should I go?

Go onnnn, jump on the bandwagon! X

Dande, everyone's enjoyment of books differs greatly and whilst many of us thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down, there are some, including those in a younger age bracket than myself, who haven't enjoyed it.

I think really only you can decide but "knowing" you as I do already from our chats etc, I would think maybe no, this isn't something you'll particularly enjoy

I see you reading things more like James Patterson or Sidney Sheldon perhaps?? Xx

Thanks for advice, Planky. You know me well, yes, Patterson, Val McDermid, anything with a gory murder

Maybe I'll avoid....

Please be mindful in what you write not to ruin the books for anyone who has not yet started to read them.

I understand how you feel at this stage of the story but surely knowing there is so much more to come in books 2 & 3 you realise that things will evolve and that there is a story that runs through all 3 books that you can't understand until you have read them all.

The books are not all that well written and this has been stated many times throughout this thread but if you just get into the story and ignore the repeated statements then you will get hooked to the story and the writer makes you go through many changes of heart, you will feel many different things at many different parts of the story and how you feel right now will not be how you feel in several chapters time.

I promise you will change your mind about several things if you give the books a chance.

I agree with this, I had read on a different forum that the books were not well written, but when I read the first two books (haven't read number 3 yet) I was so engrossed in the story I didn't even notice if it was well written or not.

Dandy you read the same books as me!

50 shades trilogy as said isnt well written imho so you may find this rather jarring.

I dont love the books but im glad ive read them and do still recommend them to my friends.... If nothing else to reap the vanilla benefits with their hubby ;)

Sometimes its nice to read out of the norm books anyway so dont rule it out for a couple of quid!

Youve seen my other comments about my feminist side lol but there are some romantic kind of awwwww moments in there.

Despite the fact i'm not over enamoured with the trilogy for lots of reasons, i do still think about the book from time to time.... Which i think imho says something.

Try it missus you never know....

Ladies!!

You have converted me! A while back I purchased the first book read about 10 pages and gave up ! Saw this thread and thought I'd give it one more read!

I'm hooked! Ive now read all 3 books in 3 days, I hated C in the first book loved him in the 2nd
Thank you :)
Louise xx

I have just ordereed it from amazon.

I usually read james patterson or dean koontz so it will be a different read for me.

I have just come back from holiday & loads were reading it round the poool.

I'm on the last book and I've just had to put it down because I got so stressed I cried... It's like it's real life and I'm ana hahaha

I finished book 3 last night and now I feel totally at a loss. I really want to read them again and i want more! I really hope the author continues writing more books involving Christian and Ana, they got me totally drawn in and hooked lol.

I'm on book 2 now...

Wouldn't a film be amazing?!.... But surely it would be slightly pornographic haha..
And like most things, films are never as good as the book!xx
