Having mooched the Pronails site and seen the crazy money they charge for their french tips that are white hand-painted onto a clear tip, and the cost of other predesigned tips (£19 for 70 tips?!) it struck me, is it possible to make your own patterned/designed tips?
Could you freehand or airbrush a design onto a clear tip and then possibly do a thin overlay of clear gel or acrylic to protect the design, the put them aside to use when you want? (Presumably as you would have to do as with the ones you buy and buff then with a white block once they're applied and before you overlay, you'd have to have protected the design first?)
It would certainly take the cost out of applying predesigned tips (is there much of a market for them anyway?) and for less confident artists could take the pressure out of, say, wedding nail art when you have to get it right in a short amount of time for a big occassion. Just make sure you have a minimum of 10 tips that you've sized in advance, and you're off! (Yes, I'm a fat great cheater :o ) Plus I could have lovely nail arted nails on myself even when I'm having a creative off-day
Has anyone tried doing it, or can see any pitfalls in trying to make them?
Lol x
