Hi Geeks,

I have a few questions about perming that i'm hoping you can help me with.

1) Is there a perm that works both ways, in that, if the client wants to straighten her hair it wont cause (too much) damage? I remember reading about one when I was training.

2) as a general rule, can bleach highlighted hair be permed?

3) To achieve a natural curl what size rollers does everyone use, i don't want it to look like a perm.

4) what brands/names does everyone use?

Of course i will be doing all the necessary tests and the reason I'm asking is that I would need to buy all the perming kit as I am mobile and i wanted know if it was worth buying it all if its only going to wreck her hair. I have always permed in the safety of a salon but is not something i do alot off. I love doing it though x x

Any help is appreciated x x

acid perms are the gentlest, and yes, highlighted hair can be permed. Match your lotion to the amount of highlights tho. Heavily highlighted hair should be treated as bleached.

The bigger the rod, the softer the curl/wave.

I use Goldwell or Redken

Thankyou Persianista, I really appreciate your advice x x x
