Hi there, hope you can give me some advie...
I have BAD psorisis on my fingernails. ( well that is what doc's THINK ) - they are not to sure themselves!
I have had it for a couple of years but my nails alwayls look alful because of it. the free edge goes all most up to th cuticlue and my nails lift. So when i do my nails they alwayls look upwards!!! does anyone know how i can do them to make them look like nails again??? and any advice on how to deal with it.

thanx

Sorry to hear this , hun ... psoriasis is an unsightly and uncomfortable condition.

Keep your nails a short as possible and use SolarOil 2-3 times per day. SolarOil is a Creative Nail Design Product and available from salons who use Creative in your country.

There really is nothing much you can do when the lifting of your nail reaches so far down the length of the nail plate. If the lifting of the natural nail (known as onycholysis) was only minor, say no more than 1/4 of the plate, then you could try to have them enhanced, but until the nails repair themselves enhancements are a no go for you ... they may make the lifting worse.

So my advise is to treat daily with SolarOil, which has been known to work wonders with this condition, keep nails short, eat a good healthy diet, try not to get too stressed and lets hope the condition improves for you.

All the best. x

I was diagnosed with psoriasis earlier this year but the medication made it worse!
My advice would be to try to get your GP to refer you to a Dermatologist to confirm what exactly it is and a specialist is much better placed to give you the correct treatment. You might wait a while on the NHS but it's worth it.
I did this and it turned out that I didn't have psoriasis - it was a form of ezcema. I was prescibed a course of antibiotics & steriod cream and it cleared up within a couple of weeks.

Good luck!

I also have psoriasis which affects my nails - as I am planning to train as a nail tech later in the year, I'm obviously pretty keen to have my own nails looking great!

Gigi mentioned using solar oil - where can I get some? Do I have to be a qualified nail tech before I'm able to purchase it?

Hi

Just letting you know in Australia you can get this magical oil called MEGA OIL, my dad bathes in an oil, he ingests the oil and applies it as a cream to the affected area it has donw wonders for his condition. So i dont know if you can get it where u live but it is worthwhile checking it out. the bath oilm is different to what you ingest i thought i would make this clear.

But goodluck

You can buy Solar Oil from any Salon that uses Creative ... it is a normal retail item.
Once you are trained and hold a certificate (with any recognised system or company) you can buy it wholesale from a Creative wholesaler.

Thanx so much for your advice. I have solar oil but never thought of using it. i will give it a bash. will keep u updated

thanx again

Interesting as I was asked what could I do for a neighbour with a bad case
of this at the present.

My usual mix for this AFTER a patch test.
Is either.
2 parts Solar Butter - 1 part Solar Oil.
or
2 parts Solar Silk - 1 part Solar Oil.
In all honesty it has helped n healed all I've recommended it to.
Candice - massage therapist is VERY SENSITIVE & has found relief in
ALL CND manicure - pedicure products.
NOT CURED...............

Now what I'm wondering is.
As C:u3 Renew aided repair of the skin with copper replacement.
[I never added this always used separatly]
Is this the same as Rejuvenater in the 411 Range of CND Treatments.

Would a small amount of this added to the blend above be a benefit????

Yep, one in the same, and yeah, it should be very good for psorisis..! Never tried it, but it makes sense - good thinking!

Hiya, I am going to try solar oil on my psoriasis - should I just paint it on like I would polish??

hi
when i did my training and looked in all beauty books i was told that clients with psorisis the treatment that is allowed is a manicure, by soaking the nail in warm oil and carry on the manicure as normal but don't but any enamel on and also was to put any nail extension on as this could make the condition worse and also was told to refer the client to her gp so that we get the right advise and whether or not we could do the treatment.

As if we didn't do this and something went wrong or made the condition worse the client could claim against you.

I always have a letter printed out incase i get a customer in who want treatments who i think need refering to their gp, i then give them one of these to take to their gp so i know exactly what treatment i give them, which also covers my back incase of any problems occur
