Spray tan gone patchy on hands

I actually am qualified in spray tanning but haven't done it in about a year. Plus I used a different brand which had a different technique and barrier products.
I got a spray done on Friday. I liked it but my hands now look like the pic below.
She didn't use any barrier on my hands at all, is this why? I want to have a tan for my wedding and want it to be perfect. How can I avoid this happening then?

I would use tan remover wipes after the application to clean nail plates and insides of hands and a Kabuki brush to blend the fresh tan. Also before the spray tan use a barrier cream on particularly dry skin
 
This looks like your skin is just dry which will affect the fade off. a barrier cream can help to minimise this , but also you need to be using an oil free moisturiser regularly to keep them hydrated :)
