Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

Oh just another question about wella/illumina: will it change the base color on natural hair? Meaning, I have to apply the toner carefully avoiding her natural regrowth (she made it pretty clear that she doesn't want me to touch the natural hair, I can understand) or it will not change the...

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

Yes I have it! That is why her hair is still in a good condition, they used olaplex to lighten the hair! (My collegue did it, he is the balayage expert!) Would you go in with olaplex again and lighten it again?

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

That sounds a good plan! Would you use the color remover (I have pravana) or would you go in with bleach to take her to a level 8? She was already lightened from her natural color with bleach and on top of it she only has a demi permanent (dia light) in 7.1 (faded). I feel a bit "guilty"...

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

Perfect! In the dialight range the 6volume is the lowest peroxide possible I am not familiar with Illumina, so here a couple (maybe stupid) questions: - 1 part tint+ 1 part post service + 1part pastel meaning I don't need a developer? - I was thinking that if I use a permanent color (with...

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

Isn't illumina permanent? I was told to always use a demi for covering blonde hair? Is it wrong?

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

I think naturally she is a level 6 judging from the roots. It was a blonde all over level 9-10 warm, that I tone it with 7.0 and 7.1. 1 in l'oreal should be blue based. She wants to have "dimension" should I go for a 8/81 or it doesn't have enough pigment to counteract the brassiness? Do you...

Does Wella Colour Touch fade fast as Dialight?

Thinking to change brand completely... Dialight is ruining my client's hair! Just yesterday a client came in after 3 weeks and her hair was EXTREMELY brassy. Not really faded in color but turned orange. I used on her level 9.3 (gold) a 7.1 and a 7.0 (ash and natural) with 6volume. I don't...

    Which colours?

    ;)

    Which colours?

Neutrals (like 6/0) are always on the warmer side than cooler. I would go with a cool based color and not more than 6 volume developer if you can with your brand.

    Which colours?

Yeah BUT if target color is 6, on bleached hair it always came out darker when I did it. Always. That is why, to achieve a level 6, i use 7. It comes out dark as a 6 on porous hair. Plus, better to be a bit lighter than be darker!! Lighter you can always correct it, darker not so much! For the...

    Which colours?

I find that with l'oreal if you pre pigment with the same shade it's too dark. In the dialight range the 7 is more a 5 actually, especially on porous hair the color always comes out way darker.
  15. hairlover101

    Which colours?

If you pre pigment before with a 8.3 you can the apply your desired shade. I always strand test, because on some client with dark blonde hair you don't need to repigment. I used 7.1 on a blonde without problems, we achieved a lovely medium ashy brown, what the client wanted. No green undertone...

    Red to brunette?

I just watch the color under natural light: if the reflex is more reddish, i go with the .7, if it's more orange, .1, if it's more yellow.2 That said, I almost never use the .2 because if the hair is not really yellow (if it's a warmer yellow) it comes out warmer!! If it's a strong ginger...

    Basic Wella colour advice

.1 should counteract the orange, not the gold. I would go more with a .12 or .2 if the undertone is really yellowish. (I read gold as yellow, if it's more on the orange side than .1 is perfect!) I personally HATE the natural undertone, as to me it always always fade to a brassy color. If not...

Quantity of color for different lengths

Just a curiosity: how much you calculate for every hair length? I usually do 1 tube if hair is collarbone length or shorter and two tubes if longer. I almost never use 3 tubes, but sometimes client with thick hair had me sweat to put the color evenly on :P Do you follow a particular guide to...

    Perplexed: 4 + 6 isn't the same as 5?

Hi everyone! When I color a client's hair, I normally stick to one shade. I use l'Oreal, and the shades selection is so big that I feel it's enough. Today I spoke with a senior colorist, much more experienced than me, that told me that when he wants to achieve a shade, he always mixes two...
