probably gonna get myself shot here!!

I like square. More so on a longer nail, but that's my taste for all enhancements. I also like almond. Not a huge fan of round/oval, and have yet to try stiletto.

    Little bug nail :)

Oh, but when I was designing mine, I was thinking blade of grass, not leaf.

I'm pretty new to this site, but I think I just loaded the photo onto my albums. This should be the link to it... http://www.salongeek.com/album.php?albumid=98 Let me know if it works! LOL

Whats the best way to remove nails

I do this, and then dip the foil tips in paraffin to keep them warm.

    Little bug nail :)

It looks AMAZING! So realistic! It's funny, I did a design very similar to this, but didn't airbrush, and doesn't look half as real as yours. I did mine all in acrylic though, instead of painting it. I'll try to attach a pic if I can figure out how to shrink it down. Sorry, I can't figure...

help, clients saying nails fell off

Have the client come in, sit them down and swipe Scrub fresh on their nail that the enhancement "fell" off of. Then put their hand in a UV lamp. If the nail is completely smooth, meaning no gauge, scrape, teeth marks, then it really did fall off. If it looks all rough and gnarly, chances are...

    The ULTIMATE nail quiz!!

I just wanted to expand the Atopic Dermatitis question to say that I would service the client unless the skin was extremely inflamed, broken or oozing. The condition itself is not contagious, but some other conditions the client may have could be spread through openings in the skin.

look at these for toe nails !!!!

Now, if you had to polish those suckers, would you charge extra for the amount you'd have to use?

    4 Yr old Pedi

Personally, I don't like the whole "tip" situation. I find it awkward for everyone involved. If I know the person, I tell them not to tip me, and if I don't know them and they feel bad they can't tip more, I tell them the truth: I work for your repeat business and referrals, not tips.

    hollywood or brazillian???

Sorry if I don't get the terminology right, I am guessing Hollywood is everything gone right? We call that a "Full bikini" wax here. Also, "Brazillian" can come in many shapes and forms here. I think people just do what they want and call it whatever they want here. Anyone care to set the...

    Vancouver BC ESI Show

Hi, I have the 2008 Vancouver Brochure right in front of me. From what it looks like from the floorplan, about 1/5 of the booths are "Nails, Uniforms & Accessories" and the remaning 4/5 is "Skin & Body Care". For the classes, it looks to be about 4 that are regarding mani/pedi and...

    Catalogue of disasters

We have quite a few of those chop shops here in Vancouver. I try to refer to them as Non-standard Salons, and not a specific ethnicity because I find that there ARE competent and qualified Asian nail techs out there, myself being one of them and I don't like to be stereotyped.

    New enhancement application method?

Sorry if this question has already been answered, as I may have missed the post, but does anyone know when this will be launched in Canada? I'm in British Columbia and have not seen any sign of it anywhere but this forum. Any info or would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Ever get a client telling you their nail just "pinged off"?

Don't mean to seem like I'm disagreeing with all of you here, but I didn't see anyone mention changes in medications or mixing product lines (scrub fresh with EZ Flow don't mix well) I've known a client or two who were undergoing treatments or using different medications that actually do cause...
