If they're in the hold packed they'll be absolutely fine. I've carried mine in the hold and in the cabin and never had a problem although I'm only talking a 2/3 bottles. :)

As much as it might be annoying accepting a lot of change, I have never heard of this 'only have to accept' certain amounts of change!! It is all legal tender and if I was told to pay with notes or pound coins only I'd be taking my business else where. She's a regular and loyal customer so is...
