Hi ya,

This is prob the most stupid question yet but i am doing my 1st practice of eyelash perming today and just wanted to check when you do a skin test is it the perming lotion you use to do the test?

And when you do eyelash tinting do you just mix a tiny bit of solution to test...?

Sorry for the silly question - i dont want to get it wrong tho!

I always test the perm lotion and setting lotion 24 hours before treatment and the same with the tint, just a little bit on the inside of the wrist or behind the ear.

Hope this helps

Test the perming solution, neutraliser & glue (glue provided with some kits not all) , just a dab with a cotton bud but cleanse behind the ear with surgical spirit to remove any barrier eg. sebum from hair or products first ensuring there are no cuts, rash or sores in the first place. With the tint mix just a little with the developer and again cleanse as mentioned before application. hth

It is really important that you do this at least 24 hrs before the treatment to allow time for a reaction as everyone is different. I had someone react within 10 minutes, we were having a cup of tea, and her ear swelled up right in front of us! This taught me just how important the patch testing is. If I hadn't tested and this had been on her eyes! Well, just doesn't bear thinking about! :)xxx
