Another acrylic question about filing

Hi all, In my training I was taught to file with a 180 grit and then white block to finish but I'm struggling to get a nice even finish and wondered if I should be using a higher grade grit such as 240 after the 180 for a smoother finish?? Can anyone advise please.

Yes there's no reason why you shouldn't use a 240 grit to help smooth the surface. Try it and see if you prefer it.
