Backfill Acrylic with gel?

Would you do it? I've been asked by a friend and my gut instinct is saying no. Is this classed as mixing systems despite the fact the acrylic is cured? Also it will look awful, I can't even guarantee to have the same colour match as the acrylic used.

Just wanted to see what you geeks would do?

it's fine to do. it's not mixing as the acrylic is set. but for me I would soak off and start fresh. I just find this easier. then I don't have to try and match colours or use a cover colour, since I find my gel brand is clearer than most of the acrylic nails that come to me.

Thank you, yes I think I'm going to explain about the colour etc, she may as well either go back to where she got them done or have a soak off and new set.
