Just after a bit of advice (again!) please!

A local school is holding a beauty night to support local businesses where you can 'buy' a table for £10 and then promote your work. I'm a mobile beautician and I can offer, facials, mani's, pedi's, eye treatments, waxing. I would love to get a table and do mini treatments of about 15 minutes but i have no idea what to do as i've never done anything like this before!

At the minute i do not retail any products, just offer treatments, would it be worth trying to retail anything, nail files, toe rings, etc?

What mini treatments would you suggest that i offer and would you charge for this? if you would charge how much?

Any help would be most appreicated!

Hiya,

I spray-tanned at a Ladies Indulgence Evening last week and was indundated with bookings - all treatments were pre-booked and pre-paid and the whole event was organised very well.

Over 160 treatments took place and every single therapist was fully booked (I believe). I'm not sure about the other therapists, but my opportunity to sell any retail products just wasn't really there due to the swiftness of each appointment, and I sold very little. However, I have had a few future bookings from the night, and still made a reasonably healthy profit on the night.

Most therapists on the night just offered one or two treatments, so that a range of treatments were on offer from a number of therapists. After all, the appointments are only mini-15-mins and you'll be so busy you won't have more than a couple of minutes between each client (if you're lucky). And don't forget that whichever treatments you offer, you need to still be covering your costs+some. The schools round here also expect a donated voucher as a raffle prize too, so that should be added to your evening's costs.

I made sure I handed out a little pre-prepared info pack containing: spray tan treatment advice, my card and an A5 flyer (in case they could put it up at their work etc).

Aquarius Beauty (on this site) was at the same event - hopefully she'll see this thread and can offer more/better advice.

Good luck
xx
