Best stylist and salon marketing

I am relocating to a new city and I am going to have to start all over again with my clientele base. I was wondering if anyone new of any good and inexpensive marketing techniques. I've heard that getting into social media is a good idea.
Any thoughts on it?

I've been using facebook myself to keep up a client base. Some other co workers also use twitter.
You can check out this site which has an inexpensive ebook that you can read.
