What qualifications do you need to be able to carry out botox as a treatment??

I have heard that after becoming a beautician you can do a course for botox at colleges??? Is this true?x

I believe you have to be a registered general nurse, but I'm happy to be corrected on that.

I thought you had to be a doctor or nurse to be able to do it too.

Was quite shocked when I heard beauticians could do it - but would like to look into it more ... any1 else have any info on this?

You have to be a Nurse, Doctor, Surgeon, Dentist, some paramedics are allowed. If you google botox courses all of them state the above. It is a prescription only drug so you have to be a medical professional. A nurse can do the course, but unless he/she is a prescriber then you still have to have a doctor, dentist, etc anybody who can write out a prescription to prescribe the botox for you. It is also illegal to advertise the word botox in your advert. I know all of this as just last year I was looking into it as my sister is a nurse, (has been for 25yrs) and we went over everything with a fine toothcomb!! So unless you fancy taking up nursing too:) you are better off just renting your room out to a Doctor who will pay you around £40 for each treatment they do. Hope this helps.
