What do Geeks think about this treatment?

Do you offer it as a service?
Which product do you use?
What training did you get ... or not?
What about the dodgy chemicals like formaldehyde?
What in-salon/client protection do you use?
Do you offer retail after treatment sales?
What kind of prices do you charge?
... etc, etc ...

Thanks :)

Do you offer it as a service? Yes

Which product do you use? Kerastraight

What training did you get ... or not? None, a monkey could do it :)

What about the dodgy chemicals like formaldehyde? This a current mis-conception. There is no formaldehyde in Brazilian Blowdrys. It was only in the Japanese system, which is totally different.

What in-salon/client protection do you use? Golves and I use an air purifier too.

Do you offer retail after treatment sales? Yes. The product will be stripped put if they use anything else.

What kind of prices do you charge? From £135 and include the shampoo and conditioner

What training did you get ... or not? What Donna said-lol
What about the dodgy chemicals like formaldehyde? It doesn't contain formaldehyde, it contains aldehyde
What in-salon/client protection do you use? Gloves and a ceiling fan for the straightening stage
Do you offer retail after treatment sales? Shampoo and conditioner
What kind of prices do you charge? Short hair £150, medium £200 and long £250. Shampoo and conditioner is £15 a bottle and this is not included in the price
... etc, etc ...

Thanks :)

Hope that helps!

Thanks Ladies :)

We have just started offering it, as BK can be hard to get over here!
We use QOD max
There isnt any training availiable here, so the dvd and leaflets have been our source of education
Ours has a small amount of formaldehyde, but so does toothpaste, new clothing etc. it is in almost everything
We use fans, masks and golves, (offered to clients as well)
We have 3 different lines that are sodium chiloride free, all good for preserving BKT
Prices are $200, $250 and $300, and the aftercare is extra, (without them, there is no guarantee on how it will hold.)

Hi all, I'd just like to clarify one point of Angelina's reply. None of these treatments are Formaldehyde free. They don't contain Formaldehyde but rather a chemical called Methylene Glycol. (or MG with another name) This Chemical PRODUCES formaldehyde gas when heated ( A necessary part of the treatment, we all know) The percentage of gas produced, however is very small and provided the area you are working in is well ventilated, will do no harm although there may be some irritation to the eyes and throat. (This could occur when using any chemical products, so is nothing new in the industry) Formaldehyde is found in loads of everyday products and this is just a lot of scaremongering. (Remember a few years ago when we were told that our mobile phones were going to fry our brains? - What's happened to that?)
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Grant

Well judging by the looks on a lot of teenagers faces when using a mobile phone, i think they were right.
You try talking to your kids sometimes when they are texting/playing games etc.........
They are like zombies :lol::lol:

You're about right with that.....
