There are some that scoff at awards. There are some that wonder what the point actually is and whether or not it makes a difference at all. Well, I'm here to tell you that the wonderful people at BABTAC have looked into this very carefully and have come up with some pretty interesting conclusions.

According to BABTAC, salons that win awards can expect to see an increase of £680 per month in revenue which is definitely not to be sniffed at. And it's good news for mobile therapists too as an award can see their revenue increase by £250 a month.

A whopping 758 beauty professionals, including salons and mobile therapists, were surveyed and 34 per cent of those said that they entered into award competitions. Those that won shared their earning figures and 98 per cent of them confirmed that revenue had increased since winning an award. Over half of award winners increased their prices following the win and only 8 per cent claimed that winning an award had had a negative impact on their business.

General manager of BABTAC, Colin Webster, said, "Going for an award is certainly a great way to shout about your quality and standards, and of course helps in achieving recognition where it’s due. A boost in reputation clearly offers an even better benefit to the bottom line."

Until then...geek on!
