Hi @mercer33 there have been a lot of threads about this.

There are companies like izettle who will offer you a free or low start up but charge you about 2.75% per transaction, but no contract, or you can rent a machine for a fixed fee per month - around £18 - and pay much lower charges per transaction. A geek on here did the sums. As a guideline, if you're putting around £1000 pm through a card terminal, you'd be better off with a monthly rental. These are usually in a contract.
