Hi does anyone use collin skincare at their salons?
I am thinking of getting the range in as was wondering what are your thoughts of the range, the company and training and the start up costs.

My friend uses it in her salon and absolutely loves it, when we were looking for a new range she couldnt sing their praises high enough. What stopped us was set up costs for what we were looking for we would have been looking between £1500 - £2000, but as we are a very small salon and do more on the holistics than the beauty we couldnt justify the expenditure. We also wanted something more natural based. If you are considering them then why not see what shows they are going to and visit their stand, or contact them and they will arrange for a rep to come out and see you.
It is a mine field when you are trying to choose a range it gave me many sleepless nights, so i do sympathise. good luck and i hope this helps a bit.

Thanks very much for your advice ladies!! xx

I was trained with this range. I thought it was lovely, but some girls got a lot of spots from it. So I reckon it is good for mature skin, and not so good for oily, congested skin.

I used Collin products for 4 years while I was doing mobile treatments and they were great to begin with. However I fell out with them just before I expanded my business into a salon because they were getting too big for their boots and I felt really pressured by them to keep spending on stock that I didn't need. I now use Dermalogica and haven't looked back, but you need to invest wisely when you first start out.

i have used collin skincare at my salon for 4 and 1/2 years the tretaments and products are very good but the customer service and pressure to spend spend spend is a real let down. Their mark up isnt very big - the problem is collin uk buy from france then sell to us so they are taking their slice of the profit as well - they are for ever doing price increases as well. i have easily spent £800 - £1500 per order with them. £1000 probably only makes you £250 profit with them now. Recently I was a little late with a payment due to some problems with my bank they were horrid - so 2 faced - from arse licking all the time they didnt even call me just sent threatening letters over a few hundred pound bill. i am disgusted with them after spending about £50,000 over the years thats the thanks I got. We are looking to change _ probably to Dermalogica! any comments very welcome:green:
Great results terrible customer service!

It sounds like exactly the same experience as mine when dealing with Collin UK. They're 'customer service' skills were really lacking! Since I kicked them to the kerb in 2006 they have obviously not changed their ways. Instead of supporting the small businesses that get them off the ground and keep them going, they leach all your money and treat you like dirt. They definately don't deserve your good will or business.

Dermalogica offer a lot of support and their training is excellent and to me, the products are hard to beat. I found that my retail sales excelled after switching to Dermalogica because of their good reputation and prestigious marketing.

However, over the past few years their prices have been creeping up and I'm finding it harder to keep up with them and at one point they introduced about 4 new ranges in one year which was too much all at once.

The good thing is though, they are far more professional than Collin and you can at least discuss your concerns with them. I hope that helps a bit with your decision
