\hi fellow hair geeks:biggrin:
a friend of mine wants me to color her hair, first time doing her hair.
she gets a really deep red so we picked 66/46 koleston. i always use wella.
anyway she has a lot of dark grey in her roots, now too questions!
1. since i'm using a double base at the beginning of that (66.46) would i need any base in there to cover her greys?
2. should i use 9% instead of 6% for better penatration?
thanks in advance girls:biggrin:

What do you mean by dark grey? Is there a lot of her natural left in her hair?

I have a client who is quite white at the hairline, I put an eighth of 5/0 in with the half tube of 55/66 I put on it and its always fine.

I'd just be wary of her turning pinky! But call Wella helpline and they can aid you...they are great and you should be able to find their number.

I never really thought much about it being double base, I think that just means that it stays longer than a usual red. Best to check though. Depending on her base, I would just use 6%, unless her hair is v dark naturally then you could use 9%, or if her hair is stubborn to tint. x
