My client has dark brown hair, but were she tried to dye it red her roots are burgandy, so im not sure if i should do a full head on dark brown, or 3/4 dark brown and add some burgundy strands

I would advise her to go to a salon.

Please don't do anything at all - with the information you have given us, she needs to go to a pro for her colour corrected properly ( or she will end up with a hideous hot halo as her hair grows )... then you can fit the extensions to the correct colour x
