Hi, I am desperatley looking to rent a room / space somewhere in Failsworth, Mcr or within about a 10 mile distance . I am just wondering any body could advise me on how much I should look to be paying. I have been qualified for about a year and have been working mobile so I do have some clients but the main reason for renting is that I can build up my client basis. I have my own insurance and own equipment so it is just a room / space I will am looking to rent but have no idea how much I should be looking to pay. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.

p.s or if you know of anywhere to rent locally please let me know thank you.

I'm renting a room in a local hair salon and i pay £20 a day. The lady that owns it is really flexible, if i only do half a day then i only pay £10, if i'm not there then i dont pay. And it included water, heating, electric, drinks for clients etc. I'm pretty happy with what i pay, would say its a reasonable amount. Good luck! :)

If I could get something like that I would be very happy. Just have find something though. I have printed a list of local hair salons and going to get ringing in the next day or so to see if they have any rooms. Thank you very much for replying to me as I did not have a clue about how much to expect to pay. What I dont want to do is end up somewhere wherer they expect me to pay large sums upfront.

I think renting a room in a hair salon is the best place to start because there's already clients there that you can pick up. Most of my clients have stuff done while there in having there hair done!

I am just about to start renting a room a couple of days, and owner is wanteng £25, again that includes all bills, I get to use the salon system on their pc, and days I am not there, they will book appoinments in for me, first time doing this, but thought it was a good way to start hth x

This is how I started as well, renting space at a salon. The owner charges me 20% (this includes everything -- heat, hot water, etc) but only on service. Any products I sell is my own revenue.

It's been awesome. She's got 25 years worth of clientele and as we worked out the agreement before I even took my courses, she spent the following 3 months "talking me up" to them. I walked in and immediately had several regulars. And they still do it too...they're very good about promoting me, answering any questions should I be off that day, and will often take appointments for me.
