This might be a good place to ask this.

What's the difference between seeing someone and going out with someone?

My late teen daughters laugh when I say I thought it was the same thing! Because when I was their age it did mean the same thing!

When did it change (or is it a regional thing?) and is it just me who's noticed lol

me and my boyfriend were "seeing" each other before it properly came official in all honesty there is no difference, he asked me and j just went with it [emoji23] I was 15 at the time though but there is no difference it's just a way of saying your together but it's not totally official. Or not Facebook official anyway [emoji87] that's when you know it's real!

I think its just a Teen thing hahaha x

Seeing someone is the early stages, a bit more casual. In some cases dating more than one person.

Going out with someone means you're official (Facebook status lol) and only dating them.

It's so complicated nowadays...I feel so old x

If it's an age thing that's cool I'm still a teen!!

To me, you're going out, when you're exclusive. You're not dating, messaging or sleeping with anyone else. And you delete any online dating sites. And they meet your family.

Dating is more hanging out with a snog at the end... Or more if you're so inclined

Lol

Is that where your user name comes from? :);)

Men complain constantly don't they and only shave their faces!

Ha ha blossom!! I never thought of that, good 1! Xx

God I remember the taboo of having a fart Infront of someone new for the first time! Obviously you don't want to do that on the first date & put them off though!!

I remember my husband never burped farted or swore for the first few months I knew him

It must have been a massive effort lol

I forced my hubby into the yay or nay conversation to are we a couple now and he grunted yeah. That was after about 4 months.
Then he met my parents after 1.5 years! We moved in together after 4 years and I forced him to marry me after 6 years.
He used to be a very erm very selfish single type boyfriend (but monogamous) but the minute We got married he completely changed into the man I knew he was deep down. He's now the most married and most soppy man in the world. He loved being married. Been together 9 years.
It was a risky gamble though, I even bought my own ring (out the joint account though) I knew bachelor front would come down

That being said we have quite independent lives. Usually go on holiday twice a year together and then I will go on holiday another couple times without him and he goes on fishing weeks.
I still want to go out to clubs every now and again (I'm 32) and he couldn't think of anything worse! (He's 48) because of our ages we have no friends together so don't socialise like that but I hope we will when we have a babe x

I've never understood the 'seeing each other' thing :(

To me you are either together or not! If you want to parade your bits around town then stay single lol! Perhaps it's an age thing tho.... I'm 36 going on 70 haha.

Me & my other half had this conversation on our second date, & our third date was at his mums wedding where I met most of his family. Still going strong 8 years later :D

I think it works if you are both similarly minded, otherwise it could come across as either needy or disinterested xx
