Employed stylist vs self employed

Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice! I think in this crazy time we are in at moment it has made me feel like I need a change!! I have worked for same salon for 14 years being an employed stylist! I feel as a hairdresser you want to fit all your clients in, and will go above and beyond to do this!! But working long days I really don’t see this in my pay packet..spoken to my boss serval times and nothing gets done! she is not a hairdresser which I find hard!! I feel like all I do is work to give someone a fancy lifestyle! But anybody that has been employed then went to self employed is it any better? Thank you
