Hey geeks!
I have my NVQ level 2 exams next week and our tutor hasn't exactly been the most helpful regarding what to expect! We've been told to pass we need to achieve 100% in all four exams for this year as is a 2yr course. Our exams are on facials, health and safety, eye treatments and make up. We will have to resit in April if 100% not reached.....:(
I am not too bothered by the H&S one, as I am sure that is mostly common sense....?!
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light....are they as scary as I am thinking? I've never been one for exams (who has!) but with the lack of input from our tutor, it's a bit harder to prepare.
For level 2, they are not going to be that hard, are they?

Many thanks in advance!

U should know the answers after studying your course. Not sure which exam board you are registered with, but from my experience some of the questions are worded weirdly - ie what should you NOT do if A, B or C happens, so read questions carefully.

You will prob get a lot of H&S questions in each unit, so know yr regulations well. Also prob a lot of questions about not naming contra inds and why, good salon service etc and not necessarily questions directly relating to the actual treatment.

Without actually giving you exact questions, hope this helps.

Yes you do need 100%, but as long as you get 80% you should only need to resit questions you got wrong.

pm me if you need any more info, but dont sweat, just revise like hell, you'll be fine - after all you need to know your stuff to be successful in this industry, and the more you know now, the easier L3 will be if you progress.

Ah thanks very much Elaine! I appreciate it! I am sure it'll be fine, it's just a bit daunting as been a little while since been in an exam situation!
I have been revising lots and am pretty clued up on it all; bloody facial muscles are my weakness at mo but will keep working on it!
You've been more helpful that my tutor, so thank you! x

A good way to learn muscles is to get loads of black and white copies of face, showing muscles, and then colour each muscle in whilst writing the name of it over and over again. Try and keep the same colour for each muscle every time you colour it in, and then you can recollect not only the name of the muscle, but also the colour should you need to which may remind you.

Hope this makes sense - this is the way I learnt it. Also you might want to try to link the muscle name with a different or similar word. I know this sounds like learning loads of different things for the same muscle, but memory experts use these type of techniques. Eg obicularis oculli - I pictured the last "i" (in oculi) like an "eye" in my head to connect the two.

Dont get yourself confused tho!

:green:while i was studying for my level 2 i used Smart screen if you look it up on google u will find it
lost of work sheets etc!

As for you science A+P its all pretty straight forward skin, hair folicle, nail diagrams

Trust me ts easy compared to your level 3 ! which im just finishing at the minute

hope this helped
