Good Monday everyone
I know this topic has been covered before so i could have simply replied to one of the many existing posts, however I chose to start a new one because the problems I'm experiencing are of the Skittles variety, as it were
Despite my last post, I've actually been out of action with regards to nails for the last 4 months due to health issues. I'm hoping to get started again soon but am worried this may not be possible due to the allergic reactions I've been getting to various products whenever I practice. This didn't happen when I was training before but recently something seems to have changed and many things to do with nails have become no go areas! It appears that I am not only allergic to dust, but fumes and glue too. I only have to open a bottle of monomer or squeeze out a pea-sized amount of glue and already my eyes are watering, my nose is running, I begin wheezing as if I'm going to have an asthma attack (I am not asthmatic), I become dizzy, my chest is tight, and my skin becomes inflamed. Plus if I touch the stuff (I try not to, but often it spills on me) I get a burning rash.
This can't be over exposure because it happened the very first time I recently opened a bottle of monomer or glue, and continues happening even if I leave them alone for a day, a week, or a month. I've got various brands of monomer and glue (LCN, Star Nails and EZFlow) and I have the same reaction to all of them.
I read about nitrile gloves and am going to buy some, but I don't know what to do about the respiratory and optical problems. Would a simple cone mask be adequate for my needs, or a pleated mask, or something more heavy duty such as this https://www.seton.co.uk/setoneurope/catalog/0/20/100007-1 200127-2 306502-3.html?
And what about my eyes? Am I going to have to wear welding goggles?! How about a gask mask lol  My God, I'm going to end up looking like a surgeon or a biotechnician or even someone out of Hostel and scare away all my potential clients!
I truly do believe nails are my calling and don't want to quit on account of these allergies.
Again, apologies for not tagging this onto an existing relevant topic. If anyone can help, I extend my thanks in advance.
