When my male clients come in for a facial, they have stubble. They come in the evening after work. Not all clients have a clean shave.

I try to adapt my facial movements so that it doesn't drag their skin when I work on the jawline. I am guessing upward movements ie against the hair growth is not a nice smooth move, it makes a scratchy noise, and it feels like i am dragging the skin.

Any advice on how to make the moves around the facial hair comfortable and relaxing for the client?

I would appreciate any feedback from a male geek on what facial movements they like and hate?

To be honest I've never found it uncomfortable having massage against the skin, it's only cotton wool/sponges against the stubble that I find uncomfortable.

Mind you, I remember when they used to say that it was more comfortable for men to have massage with talc than oil - was it hell! I used to dread leg massage with talc, it always pulled my hairs & hurt, yet has never hurt with oil!

Hi
When I was training, apart from the obvious of using sponges instead patters on males we were also told when cleansing and massaging try to work with the natural grain of the hair growth, rather than going against it.

Males usually seem to like a firmer pressure and products that feel light on the skin.
